Gold prices in Kerala witnessed a significant increase on Tuesday, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by ₹135 per gram.
According to the latest market rates, 22-carat gold is now priced at ₹14,040 per gram, while the price for eight grams has reached ₹1,12,320. The increase comes amid fluctuations in the international bullion market and growing demand for the precious metal.
Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is being sold at ₹11,600 per gram and ₹92,800 for eight grams.
Silver prices remained comparatively stable, with the metal priced at ₹260 per gram and ₹2,080 for eight grams.
Jewellery traders say global economic developments, currency movements, and investor sentiment continue to influence domestic gold prices. The latest hike is expected to impact jewellery purchases, especially during the ongoing wedding and festive season.
