The Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF) has urged Delhi University to issue revised assessment guidelines for its fourth-year undergraduate research programme, stating that students and faculty members are still awaiting clarity on the evaluation process following an increase in academic credits.
In a letter addressed to Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh on November 6, the teachers’ organisation pointed out that the university had increased the credits for the Dissertation/Academic Project/Entrepreneurship track from six to 10 through a notification issued on July 10. However, the corresponding changes to the evaluation framework have not yet been announced.
The revised credit structure, which will come into effect from the 2026-27 academic session, allocates 10 credits each to the seventh and eighth semesters, taking the total to 20 credits for the academic track.
The notification also introduces changes to the course structure for fourth-year students under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF), 2022. The DTF has called for revised evaluation guidelines to ensure clarity and consistency in the assessment process.
