New Delhi: Delhi Police has dismantled an inter-state child trafficking syndicate, arresting 12 individuals and rescuing five infants during a major operation, officials said on Thursday.
According to police, the accused were part of a well-organised network involved in the trafficking and illegal sale of newborns and infants across multiple states.
The rescue operation was carried out following an investigation into the syndicate’s activities. The rescued infants have been placed under appropriate care and protection.
Police are now probing the group’s modus operandi, its inter-state connections, and the specific role played by each of the accused. Further investigations are underway to identify additional members of the network and determine the full extent of the trafficking operation.
