Thrissur: Gold prices continued their upward trend in Kerala on Tuesday, with the rate of 916 hallmark gold crossing the ₹14,000 mark per gram.
According to the latest market rates released on today, 916 gold was priced at ₹14,320 per gram, while the rate for eight grams stood at ₹1,14,560.
The price of 18-carat gold was recorded at ₹11,830 per gram and ₹94,640 for eight grams.
Silver prices also witnessed steady movement, with one gram priced at ₹280 and eight grams at ₹2,240.
Jewellery traders noted that fluctuations in international gold prices, currency movements, and market demand continue to influence domestic bullion rates. Consumers and investors are closely monitoring price trends as gold remains a preferred investment and ornamental asset in Kerala.
Jewellery outlets across the state reported steady customer enquiries despite the higher prices, particularly for wedding and festive purchases.
