CPI Leader CC Mukundan Joins BJP in Thrissur

MLA C. C. Mukundan, who recently left the Communist Party of India, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Thrissur. He accepted the party membership at the BJP Thrissur City District Committee office, Namo Bhavan.

Mukundan had been associated with the CPI for nearly 40 years and served as the MLA from Nattika for the past 10 years. During the event, BJP leaders gave him a warm welcome.

A. N. Radhakrishnan, NDA State Vice Chairman, officially welcomed Mukundan into the party by presenting him with a shawl. Several BJP leaders were present at the function, including Justin Jacob, BJP Thrissur District President.

After joining the BJP, Mukundan said the party works for the upliftment of poor people in India and that he would remain loyal to the movement. He also criticised the CPI and alleged corruption within the party.

Mukundan said he would speak about these issues during the upcoming election campaign and reveal details about those who opposed him within the party. He also claimed that he became unpopular in the CPI because he refused to take part in activities related to collecting money for the party.

Calling it the happiest day of his political life, Mukundan said joining the BJP was an emotional moment for him. Several BJP leaders attended the reception, including K. K. Aneesh Kumar and B. Gopalakrishnan, along with other party members.
