New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, saying key concerns surrounding India-US relations remained unaddressed.
Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh criticised Modi’s description of Trump as his “good friend” and questioned whether the Prime Minister raised India’s concerns over US actions related to New Delhi’s purchase of Russian oil and its economic ties with Iran.
Ramesh said the Prime Minister’s account of the conversation did not mention several issues that, according to the Congress, are of concern to people in India regarding relations with the United States.
