Bengal Teen Among Class 12 Toppers After Battling Cancer for Three Years

A teenager from West Bengal who underwent 82 chemotherapy sessions while battling a rare form of cancer has emerged among the top performers in the Class 12 board examinations.

Adrija Gan, a student of Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Sister Nivedita Girls’ School, scored 487 marks in the Higher Secondary examination and secured joint 10th rank in the merit list released by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.

Despite undergoing treatment for nearly three years, Adrija continued her studies and achieved academic success. She had also scored 94 per cent in the Madhyamik, or Class 10 board examination, earlier.

Her achievement has drawn widespread appreciation, with many praising her determination and perseverance in overcoming personal and medical challenges while excelling academically.
