Thiruvananthapuram: The stage is set and the excitement is building as the Kerala School Athletic Meet 2025 kicks off in the state capital on October 22. Thousands of young athletes from across Kerala will converge at the Kerala University Stadium for the state’s biggest school sports spectacle.
The curtain-raiser ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday evening, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who will flag off the field and track events, marking the official start of the multi-day competition.
This year’s meet is expected to be one of the grandest in recent memory, featuring fierce contests in sprints, relays, long-distance runs, jumps, and throws. The event continues to serve as a launchpad for Kerala’s budding sports stars, many of whom go on to represent the state and nation in higher-level championships.
According to officials from the Department of General Education and the Kerala Sports Council, all preparations have been finalized, with upgraded infrastructure, advanced timing systems, and strict safety protocols in place.
