Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks his 75th birthday today, September 17. Born in 1950 at Mehsana in Gujarat, Modi’s milestone birthday is being celebrated nationwide with a two-week-long program of service and public welfare activities launched by the BJP and the Central Government.
Beginning today, the BJP will observe ‘Seva Pakwada’ (Fortnight of Service) across the country. The initiative will feature blood donation and health camps, cleanliness drives, environmental awareness programs, exhibitions, painting competitions, assistive device distribution for the differently-abled, and the ‘Modi Vikas Marathon’ sports events.
The celebration, centered on the themes of ‘Swadeshi’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, will continue until October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
Marking the occasion, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of India’s first PM MITRA textile park in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, today.
