New Delhi: The much-anticipated meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance was adjourned after SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch failed to attend. Buch was expected to face questions on critical regulatory matters and SEBI’s role in overseeing financial markets, but her absence raised concerns among committee members.
The panel had planned to address pressing issues such as market regulation, investor protection, and SEBI’s efforts to ensure financial stability. Opposition leaders have voiced criticism over her non-appearance, calling it a potential evasion of accountability. The rescheduled meeting date is yet to be confirmed.
