The Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) decision to increase the price of Nandini curd by up to Rs 14 per kg from November 1 has triggered criticism from Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and the Bangalore Hotels Association.
Both have expressed concern over the steep price revision, stating that it would increase the financial burden on consumers and businesses.
Under the revised rates announced by KMF on Friday, the price of a 500-gram curd pouch will rise from Rs 28 to Rs 34, while the one-kg pack will cost Rs 68 instead of Rs 54.
The federation has also announced a price increase of Rs 2 to Rs 12 per litre for different varieties of Nandini milk. The revised rates will come into effect on November 1.
