Om Birla Holds Parliamentary Dialogue with Seychelles Speaker

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday held a bilateral parliamentary dialogue with Seychelles National Assembly Speaker Azarel Yolanda Ernesta and a parliamentary delegation at Parliament House.

Birla congratulated Ernesta on becoming the first woman Speaker of the Seychelles National Assembly and highlighted the longstanding ties between India and Seychelles.

He noted that the relationship is strengthened by shared democratic values, civilisational links and people-to-people ties. Birla also offered India’s support in promoting yoga in Seychelles through Indian instructors.

Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent State Visit to Seychelles, Birla highlighted his address to an extraordinary sitting of the Seychelles National Assembly, making him the first Indian Prime Minister to do so.
