Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police have launched an investigation after an application linked to the department’s website, used for managing internal files and official data, became non-functional, raising suspicions of a possible cyber attack.
According to police sources, the application has remained offline for the past four days and is suspected to have been compromised by hackers. The disruption has affected the handling of internal files and departmental data.
Officials said a detailed probe is underway to determine the exact cause of the malfunction and to assess whether sensitive information has been affected.
The application is maintained by Keltron through a private firm to which the state-owned company had outsourced the contract. Authorities are working to restore the system while investigating the suspected cyber security breach.
