Aizwal: Security forces have arrested the alleged commander-in-chief of the banned United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a Manipur-based militant outfit, in Mizoram, police said on Thursday.
The arrested man has been identified as Thangkhomang Haokip, who is suspected of being involved in several criminal cases in Manipur.
Aizawl Superintendent of Police Zosangliana said Haokip was apprehended in the Mizoram capital during a joint operation carried out by the Assam Rifles and the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB).
Police are expected to conduct further investigation into his alleged activities and links with the banned organisation.
