Dhaka: Bangladesh has sent consignments of Himsagar and Amrapali mangoes to the Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Tripura as a goodwill gesture, a Foreign Ministry official said on Wednesday.
According to local media reports, a total of 1,100 kg of mangoes were dispatched, with 500 kg sent to Kolkata for West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and 600 kg to Agartala for Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.
The consignments reached the two states through Bangladesh’s Benapole and Akhaura land ports on Monday, the official said.
