PM Modi Greets Doctors on National Doctors’ Day, Hails Medical Professionals Serving in Venezuela

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to doctors across the country on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, praising their dedication, compassion and commitment to strengthening India’s healthcare system.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said doctors are the backbone of the nation’s healthcare system and their tireless service, often under challenging circumstances, has earned the trust and gratitude of millions.

Highlighting the country’s healthcare progress over the past decade, Modi said the number of medical colleges has more than doubled, while undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats have expanded significantly, creating more opportunities for aspiring doctors and improving access to quality healthcare.

The Prime Minister also lauded Indian doctors and healthcare professionals serving in Venezuela under Operation Amistad, saying their selfless efforts during challenging times reflect the spirit of service and humanitarian commitment.

Modi added that doctors will continue to play a key role in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat by promoting preventive healthcare, advancing medical research, embracing innovation and ensuring affordable, accessible healthcare for all.
