PM Modi to Attend Paschimbanga Divas Celebrations, Lead Yoga Day Event During Bengal Visit

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to West Bengal on Saturday, during which he will participate in the Paschimbanga Divas celebrations, lead the main International Day of Yoga programme in Kolkata, and commission three indigenously built naval ships.

After arriving from neighbouring Odisha, the Prime Minister will attend the state-level Paschimbanga Divas celebrations at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district on Saturday afternoon. The event will highlight West Bengal’s historic role in nation-building and its rich cultural heritage.

According to an official statement, the theme of this year’s Paschimbanga Divas — “West Bengal: Heritage, Harmony and Development” — reflects the state’s cultural richness, social unity, and aspirations for progress and development.

During his visit, Modi will also lead the national-level International Day of Yoga celebrations from Kolkata and take part in the commissioning of three indigenously built naval vessels, underscoring India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
