The test result was received after the child had recovered and returned home. Meanwhile, his five-year-old sister, who developed similar symptoms, has been admitted to a private hospital in Vadakara for treatment.

Health officials reported that three children were diagnosed with Shigella infection in Kozhikode on Tuesday. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have intensified preventive measures in the affected areas.

In a separate development, a migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh who has been diagnosed with malaria is also under observation. The Health Department confirmed that the patient contracted the disease in Madhya Pradesh before arriving in Kerala.
