Clashes Erupt at Bihar Railway Station Over Lack of Train Services for Exam Candidates

PATNA: Tension prevailed at Patliputra Railway Station in Bihar after students travelling to appear for a police recruitment examination allegedly vandalised railway property, triggering clashes with police.

The unrest broke out after candidates complained about inadequate train services, fearing they would not reach their examination centres on time. More than a hundred aspirants had gathered at the station for the exam.

As the situation escalated, students staged a protest by occupying railway tracks and demanded immediate arrangements for additional train services. The demonstration disrupted rail traffic and affected train operations in the area.

Police intervened to control the crowd, leading to clashes between the two sides. Officials reportedly fired warning shots into the air to disperse the protesters.

Following the incident, railway authorities arranged additional trains and alternative travel facilities to help candidates reach their examination centres.
