Chandigarh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that he will visit Punjab on October 20 to meet the families of people who recently lost their lives after raising their voices against drug abuse in Mansa, Sangrur and Gurdaspur.
Shah accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab of failing to address the drug menace, alleging that its actions had pushed the state deeper into a drug crisis.
The visit will mark Shah’s second trip to poll-bound Punjab in less than a month. He previously visited Jalandhar on September 30, where he addressed a rally marking the culmination of the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’, a campaign against drug abuse in the state.
