Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed gratitude to people across the country for their greetings and messages following his achievement of becoming India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister.
In a statement, Modi said he was deeply touched by the wishes conveyed by people from all walks of life over the past few days. While he may not have been able to respond to every message individually, he said he cherished each greeting and expression of support.
Describing public service as a privilege, the Prime Minister said he was honoured to contribute to India’s development journey. He noted that the people of India had repeatedly voted for stability, good governance and development, adding that their trust had been his greatest source of strength.
Modi reaffirmed his commitment to working with greater dedication to realise the vision of a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat,” and fulfil the aspirations of 140 crore citizens.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Chief Ministers and leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for their warm wishes. He said the NDA’s journey had been guided by a shared commitment to advancing national interests while addressing regional aspirations.
According to Modi, this spirit of cooperation has strengthened Indian democracy, deepened cooperative federalism and accelerated development across the country. He added that the NDA government has provided political stability and driven progress in multiple sectors over the past 12 years.
The remarks came as leaders from across the NDA and various sections of society congratulated Modi on achieving the historic milestone in Indian politics.
