‘I Am Not the Chief Minister, I Am the Chief Servant’: Vijay Addresses Supporters

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor-turned-politician Vijay on Monday said he does not wish to be seen as a Chief Minister but as the “chief servant” and a true representative of the people of Tamil Nadu.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Vijay said political leadership should be rooted in public service rather than power. Emphasising his commitment to the people, he stated that his goal is to work as a representative who understands and addresses the aspirations and concerns of ordinary citizens.

“I am not the Chief Minister. I am the chief servant and a true representative of Tamil people,” Vijay said during his speech, drawing loud cheers from supporters.

The TVK leader reiterated that politics should focus on people’s welfare and social development. He said public trust can only be earned through dedicated service and accountability.

Vijay also called on party members to remain connected with the grassroots and work actively among the people. He stressed the importance of discipline, unity and commitment as the party prepares to strengthen its political presence in the state.

The remarks come as TVK continues to expand its organisational activities ahead of future electoral battles in Tamil Nadu.
