The Guruvayur Devaswom Board has dismissed allegations of ritual violation during the recent visit of Kerala Chief Minister to the Guruvayur Temple, clarifying that all procedures were followed in accordance with temple rules.
Devaswom Board Chairman A V Gopinath said there was no breach of temple customs or traditions during the visit. He explained that the Chief Minister had entered the temple after obtaining the required pass through lawful procedures.
According to the Board, the Chief Minister had booked “Nei Vilakku” offerings for five people during the temple visit.
The controversy had emerged following allegations that devotees faced inconvenience during the visit. However, security personnel informed the Board that no devotee had lodged a complaint stating that they were prevented from offering prayers to Lord Guruvayurappan or forced to return due to the Chief Minister’s presence.
The Board’s clarification comes amid political criticism surrounding the visit and related arrangements at the temple.
