Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday strongly condemned the recent attacks on the United Arab Emirates and praised UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his leadership during the crisis.
During a meeting in Abu Dhabi, Modi said attacks targeting the UAE were unacceptable and commended the restraint, courage and wisdom shown by the UAE leadership in handling the situation.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the measures taken by the UAE government to maintain national unity, security and territorial integrity during the tense period.
Modi thanked the UAE leadership and the royal family for extending support and care to the Indian community living in the country. He said the Indian diaspora was looked after “like members of the family” during the difficult circumstances.
Concluding his brief visit to the UAE, Modi described the trip as productive and once again reiterated India’s strong condemnation of the attacks on the Gulf nation.
