Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav, passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday. He was 38.
According to sources, Prateek suddenly fell ill during the early hours of the day and was rushed to a civil hospital in the city. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families, Prateek largely remained away from active politics. Known as a fitness enthusiast, he maintained a low public profile compared to other members of the family.
His death has shocked political circles and supporters of the Samajwadi Party, with condolences pouring in from leaders across parties.
