Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan was taken to a local hospital on Tuesday for treatment of an eye condition and later shifted back to prison.
Imran Khan, 74, is undergoing treatment for right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a condition affecting the blood flow in the eye, diagnosed earlier this year.
According to officials at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), he was brought in for a scheduled follow-up on April 28, during which he received his fourth intravitreal anti-VEGF injection. The treatment is being administered on a monthly basis, with his previous session held on March 23.
After the procedure, Khan was returned to custody.
