NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha on Friday said he has been “silenced, not defeated”, a day after the party removed him as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.
In a sharp reaction, Chadha indicated that he would respond strongly at an appropriate time, stating he would return “like a sailab (flood)”.
The remarks triggered a strong response from the Aam Aadmi Party, with party colleagues accusing him of avoiding key political issues in Parliament. They alleged that Chadha had refrained from directly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led Centre.
Party leaders also criticised him for focusing on what they described as “soft PR” issues, instead of raising substantive matters concerning governance and public policy.
The development points to growing tensions between Chadha and the party leadership, amid indications of an internal rift within the AAP.
