Irshad Chakkalassery was questioned by police for making alleged derogatory remarks against U Pratibha.
Irshad, a UDF constituency convener and Muslim League leader, was later released on notice.
The action followed a complaint filed by Pratibha at the Kayamkulam police station. She alleged that he made anti-women remarks during election campaigning.
Police registered bailable charges, including insulting womanhood, using obscene language, and sharing the remarks on social media.
