Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the central government firmly stands by the “India First” ideology and prioritizes the welfare of its citizens. Speaking at a public rally in Tamil Nadu ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, Modi said the ongoing conflict in West Asia has affected global energy supplies, but the government remains focused on protecting India’s interests. He emphasized that the government is working day and night for the welfare of the people and will continue to do so.
The Prime Minister also urged people not to fall prey to fake news and said the interests of Indians remain the government’s top priority. He added that the development of Tamil Nadu is directly linked to the development of India and assured that the central government is fully committed to the welfare and progress of the people of the state.
Earlier, during his visit to Kerala ahead of the Assembly elections, Modi addressed a programme in Ernakulam where he cautioned families of expatriates against believing misinformation being spread about the West Asian conflict by opposition parties. He reiterated that the government’s primary focus is safeguarding the interests and security of Indian citizens.
