Kerala SSLC & Higher Secondary Exams Begin Today; Gulf Exams Postponed Amid West Asia Tensions

Thiruvananthapuram: The SSLC (Class 10) and Higher Secondary examinations for the current academic year began across Kerala today, marking a crucial phase for lakhs of students. The examinations will continue until March 30, with 3,031 examination centres set up across the state.

A total of 417,497 students are appearing for the SSLC examination in Kerala. Additionally, 633 students from the Gulf region and 386 students from Lakshadweep have registered for the exam. However, today’s SSLC examination in the Gulf has been postponed due to the ongoing West Asia conflict. Authorities have also postponed the Higher Secondary examinations scheduled in the Gulf for today, tomorrow, and the day after.

To ensure smooth conduct of the exams, about 26,000 teachers have been deployed across various centres. The valuation camps will begin on April 7 and continue until April 28. The SSLC results are expected to be announced by the third week of May.

Meanwhile, the First-Year Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations started today and will conclude on March 27. The Second-Year Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations will begin tomorrow and end on March 28.

This year, 411,025 students are appearing for the First-Year Higher Secondary examinations, while 452,437 students will take the Second-Year examinations. In addition, 34,122 students will appear for the First-Year improvement examination. Officials have announced that the Higher Secondary examination results will be declared on May 22.
