Thiruvananthapuram: Isolated parts of Kerala are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms till Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said in its latest weather advisory.
The IMD has cautioned that lightning can be extremely dangerous, posing serious risks to human and animal life. In addition, thunderstorms may cause significant damage to power and communication networks, as well as household appliances connected to electrical conductors.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution during this period. People are advised to avoid open areas during lightning, limit unnecessary travel in adverse weather, and ensure the safe use of electrical equipment to prevent accidents and damage.
With unstable weather conditions expected to persist over the coming days, residents are encouraged to stay updated with official alerts and follow safety guidelines.
