New Delhi: Indian Railways is set to usher in a major digital shift for millions of daily passengers by phasing out the widely used UTS mobile app and replacing it with a new all-in-one platform, ‘Rail One’. The Railway Board has announced that the UTS app will be completely discontinued from March 1, 2026, urging passengers to transition to the new application well in advance.
The move is part of Indian Railways’ broader effort to integrate all passenger services into a single, user-friendly digital ecosystem. As part of this transition, the Railways has already stopped the booking and renewal of new season tickets on the UTS app.
To promote cashless transactions, passengers booking unreserved tickets through the Rail One app will enjoy a 3 per cent discount when paying via UPI, debit cards, or credit cards. This incentive will remain in effect until July 14, 2026.
Passengers with balances in the UTS R-Wallet need not be concerned, as the amount will be automatically transferred once they log in to Rail One. Existing season tickets can also be seamlessly shifted using the app’s ‘Transfer Ticket’ feature. Users can continue using their existing IRCTC or UTS login credentials, eliminating the need to create a new account.
Rail One goes beyond ticket booking, offering a comprehensive range of services including real-time train tracking through NTES, grievance redressal via Rail Madad, food ordering through e-Catering, and quick access to PNR status. The app also enables fast and secure login using fingerprint authentication or an m-PIN.
With UTS-based ticket booking set to end from March 1, Indian Railways has called on passengers to switch to Rail One at the earliest, marking a significant step towards a more streamlined, digital-first railway travel experience.
