Ahmedabad: Customs officials have arrested a 31-year-old woman passenger at Ahmedabad airport for allegedly attempting to bring an undeclared gold chain into the country, officials said on Sunday.
The woman had arrived at the airport from Sharjah when customs officials intercepted her and recovered a gold chain weighing around 500 grams.
The seized gold was valued at approximately Rs 83.14 lakh, according to officials.
The passenger was arrested in connection with the alleged smuggling attempt and was later released on bail, officials said.
