IndiGo has refunded an impressive ₹610 crore to passengers affected by the recent flight disruptions. The airline has also reunited nearly 3,000 pieces of stranded baggage with their owners across airports, following strong directives from the central government.
Authorities had instructed IndiGo to complete all fare refunds by Sunday evening and ensure that misplaced baggage was returned within two days. Responding swiftly, the airline announced full refunds for all services canceled up to December 15 and assured passengers that efforts are underway to fully restore normal operations. IndiGo also requested the public’s cooperation during this recovery phase.
The airline’s services are steadily improving — today, IndiGo operated 1,650 flights, up from 1,565 on Saturday and just 706 on Friday. Operations have resumed at 135 out of 138 airports previously served by the carrier. On-time performance has also surged dramatically, rising from a dismal 30% yesterday to 75% today.
The central government, in its latest statement, confirmed that India’s aviation network is swiftly returning to normal. Though some delays or cancellations may persist for a short period, aviation authorities emphasized that all other domestic airlines continue to operate smoothly and at full capacity.
