PM Modi’s Karnataka–Goa Tour: Grand Spiritual Celebrations & 77-Ft Lord Ram Statue Unveiling Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a major spiritual and cultural tour of Karnataka and Goa today, November 28, 2025. The visit will witness the inauguration of landmark religious projects and participation in historic celebrations that highlight India’s timeless spiritual heritage.

In the late morning, PM Modi will reach the iconic Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi — an 800-year-old pilgrimage centre established by the great philosopher Madhvacharya. There, he will join thousands of devotees in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana, a massive collective chanting of the Bhagavad Gita meant to spread spiritual unity and the essence of dharma.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa, a newly built sacred structure near the Krishna sanctum. Another highlight of the visit is the dedication of the Kanaka Kavacha, a golden covering for the revered Kanakana Kindi — the window through which saint Kanakadasa is believed to have received a divine vision of Lord Krishna.

In the afternoon, PM Modi will travel to Goa to participate in the 550th anniversary celebrations of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, one of the region’s oldest spiritual lineages. The Sardha Panchashatamanotsava marks a rare and historic milestone in the Math’s centuries-old legacy.

The most awaited moment of the day will be the unveiling of a majestic 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram, sculpted by renowned artist Ram Sutar. Touted as the tallest Lord Ram statue in the world, it is set to become Goa’s new spiritual and tourism landmark. PM Modi will also inaugurate the Ramayana Theme Park Garden, showcasing episodes from the epic to promote cultural learning. A special postal stamp and commemorative coin will be released to mark the occasion, followed by a public address.

The Prime Minister’s two-state visit beautifully blends tradition, heritage, and devotion — celebrating the philosophical legacy of Udupi, the historic strength of Goa’s spiritual institutions, and the universal message of Lord Ram.
