West Bengal man arrested in Bengaluru over alleged terror links

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police have arrested a 25-year-old man from West Bengal for allegedly conspiring with a member of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to join the outfit and plan retaliatory attacks against the Pakistan Army and India, police said.

The accused, identified as Asaful Mallik, son of Abed Mallik, was arrested from the Bommasandra Industrial Area on August 11 following information that he was allegedly planning an attack targeting the Pakistan Army, according to a police press release.

Mallik, who was residing in Jigani, was working as a security guard, police said.

Investigations are underway to establish the extent of his alleged links with the TTP member and to determine the details of the planned attacks.
