TVK Chief Vijay Urges EC to Extend Polling Hours in Tamil Nadu

Actor-turned-politician Vijay on Thursday appealed to the Election Commission of India to extend polling hours by two hours, till 8 PM, for the Assembly elections being held across 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief highlighted concerns over long queues at several polling stations and delays in the voting process. He warned that such issues could discourage voters and potentially affect overall turnout.

Additionally, he called for the appointment of supervisory officers to regularly monitor polling stations and ensure that the voting process is carried out smoothly and efficiently without unnecessary delays.
