Trump Rules Out Mediation in India-Pakistan Tensions: “I Share Strong Bonds with Both Nations”

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has made it clear that he will not intervene in the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan. His remarks come in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, which has sharply intensified tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

“I have a very close relationship with India, and I am also very close to Pakistan,” Trump said, emphasizing his ties to both countries. “The conflict over Kashmir has persisted for over 1,500 years. I am confident they will find a resolution, one way or another,” he added. Trump also noted his personal rapport with the leaders of both nations, highlighting the historic nature of the disputes between India and Pakistan.

Following the Pulwama attack, Trump had personally called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strongly condemn the “heinous” act of terrorism. He assured India’s full support in bringing those responsible to justice.
