“Time for Change, Not Revenge”: PM Modi After BJP’s Bengal Win

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said it was a “time for change, not revenge” after the BJP secured a landmark victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters following the party’s wins in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, Modi said the state had been freed from a climate of fear and violence, urging all political parties to move beyond hostility and work for the state’s future.

The Prime Minister also said that parties like the Congress and the Trinamool Congress were “punished” by voters for opposing the women’s reservation bill. He added that other parties would face similar consequences in the future.

In his address, Modi noted that previous elections in West Bengal had been marked by violence and fear, but said the latest mandate reflects a desire for change and a new political direction.
