New Delhi: Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday highlighted the vital role of teachers in shaping the country’s future, saying their contribution goes far beyond classroom teaching.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Joshi expressed his gratitude to educators for empowering the younger generation and contributing to the foundation of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
“Teachers do more than impart knowledge; they shape the future,” Joshi said in a post on X, acknowledging the efforts of teachers who work every day to prepare students for the future.
Joshi also recently emphasised that teachers play a central role in preparing children to contribute to the goal of building a developed India by 2047. He said students are among the nation’s greatest assets and need to be nurtured into well-rounded individuals.
Teachers’ Day is observed across India on September 5 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, philosopher, educationist and former President of India. The day is dedicated to recognising the contribution of teachers to education and nation-building.
