Symbolic Elephant Dedication Ceremony Held at Guruvayur Temple

GURUVAYUR: A symbolic elephant dedication ceremony (Nadayiruthal) was conducted at the Guruvayur Temple on Monday morning following the Seeveli ritual.

The offering was made by Pradeep Palazhi of Palazhi House, Padam, Nadavaramba, Thrissur. As part of the ritual, a symbolic elephant was dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan after a contribution of ₹10 lakh was made to the Devaswom.

The ceremony was led by the temple’s Melshanthi, Brahmasree T.M. Narayanan Namboodiri of Thekkumparambath Mana, Cherpulassery, as the chief priest. The ritual featured the symbolic dedication of the elephant “Junior Vishnu.”

Among those present were temple Ooralan and Devaswom Managing Committee member Brahmasree Mallissery Parameswaran Namboodiripad; District Collector and Devaswom Administrator-in-charge, Mrs. Shikha Surendran; Devaswom Managing Committee member Manoj B. Nair; Temple Deputy Administrator M. Radha; Jeevadhanam Deputy Administrator K. Geetha; Gopuram Assistant Manager V.C. Santhosh; and hereditary right-holders Madhempat Chandrasekharan Nambiar and Kandiyoor Pattam Vasudevan Nambisan.

Family members of the devotee who offered the ritual, along with a large number of devotees, also attended the ceremony.
