NASA has confirmed that astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June 2024, will return to Earth on March 18, 2025.
The duo had traveled to the ISS aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft on its maiden crewed mission. However, due to propulsion issues, the spacecraft was deemed unfit for their return journey. As a result, their stay on the ISS was prolonged while NASA and Boeing worked on a safe return plan.
NASA officials have now announced that a return mission has been scheduled for March 18, ensuring their safe journey back to Earth. The exact details of the return spacecraft and mission timeline are expected to be revealed soon.
