The Central Meteorological Department has forecast summer rains accompanied by thunderstorms in several parts of Kerala, issuing a yellow alert in multiple districts.
According to the weather department, moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds are likely in parts of central and northern Kerala. Wind speeds may reach 40–50 kmph, along with lightning in isolated areas.
Despite the rain forecast, high temperatures and humidity are expected to continue, causing discomfort during daytime hours. Evening or night showers may provide temporary relief.
Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid open areas, and not take shelter under trees. People have also been urged to take necessary precautions in view of possible strong winds.
