Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan narrowly escaped a life-threatening attack during a violent burglary at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on January 16, 2025. The 54-year-old star was stabbed six times, including severe injuries to his neck and near his spine.
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital acted swiftly, performing emergency surgery to extract a 2.5-inch knife lodged in Khan’s thoracic spinal cord and sealing a critical spinal fluid leak. Medical experts revealed that if the blade had pierced just 2 mm deeper, Khan could have suffered permanent paralysis. Thankfully, he is now out of the ICU and recovering in stable condition.
The terrifying incident unfolded around 2:30 AM when an intruder broke into Khan’s apartment and demanded ₹1 crore from a househelp. Displaying immense courage, Saif intervened to protect his staff, leading to the brutal assault. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two sons were unharmed during the attack.
Mumbai Police have detained a suspect for questioning as investigations into the shocking break-in continue.
