PM Modi to inaugurate international conference on environment and climate dynamics

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate an international conference on “The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics” at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 19.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the two-day conference at around 10 am. The event is being organised by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on September 19 and 20.

The conference will bring together environmental experts, judges from the Supreme Court and High Courts, district court judges, senior government officials and representatives of various judicial and environmental institutions.

Representatives from State Judicial Academies, State Legal Services Authorities, State Expert Appraisal Committees, State Environment Impact Assessment Authorities and State Wetland Authorities will also participate.

Judicial representatives and eminent judges from 17 countries are expected to attend the conference.

The event will provide a platform for exchanging judicial perspectives, scientific knowledge, environmental governance practices and institutional experiences from different jurisdictions.

Discussions will focus on key environmental and climate challenges, including gaps in policy formulation, implementation and enforcement. The conference will also explore measures to strengthen environmental governance and cooperation among institutions.
