PM Modi Meets BJP’s New National Team at Party Headquarters

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly appointed 65-member national team at the party headquarters in New Delhi, marking the new office-bearers’ first interaction with him.

After the meeting, Modi said organisational gatherings provide an opportunity to exchange “new ideas and perspectives” and strengthen the party’s connect with the people.

The BJP announced the new national team under party president Nitin Nabin earlier this week. The 65-member team includes 51 new faces, making it the party’s biggest organisational reshuffle since 2015.

The new team includes 12 women and six leaders from minority communities. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and former RSS functionary Ram Madhav have been appointed national vice presidents, while former Union minister Smriti Irani is among the eight national general secretaries.

Earlier on Saturday, Nabin held the team’s first organisational meeting, with discussions focusing on preparations for upcoming Assembly elections and strengthening the party’s grassroots outreach.
