Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday departed for India after completing his five-nation tour covering the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy.
Italy was the final stop of the Prime Minister’s visit, during which India and Italy agreed to elevate their bilateral relationship to the level of a “Special Strategic Partnership” following talks between Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
In a post on X, Modi described the Italy visit as “very productive” and said his discussions with Meloni covered a wide range of sectors.
He said the decision to upgrade India-Italy ties to a Special Strategic Partnership would provide new momentum to cooperation between the two countries in the coming years.
