PM Modi, Iranian President Discuss West Asia Situation Over Phone

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the latest developments in West Asia and the regional situation.

During the conversation, President Pezeshkian briefed Prime Minister Modi on recent developments in the region and outlined the way forward.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed the understanding reached and reiterated India’s long-standing position that all issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

He also stressed the need for continued efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in West Asia, while highlighting the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and international commerce in the region.
