PM Modi Cuts Down Security Convoy Amid Fuel Crisis Concerns

Amid growing fuel concerns triggered by the ongoing tensions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a symbolic step to promote fuel conservation by reducing the number of vehicles in his official security convoy by half. The move comes as India faces increasing pressure over fuel supplies due to the continued instability around the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global oil transit route.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had urged citizens to cut down on petrol and diesel consumption during the current crisis. He also advised people who can work from home to do so, avoid unnecessary foreign travel, and refrain from purchasing gold for the next year as part of broader economic caution measures.

Following his public appeal, Modi’s decision to scale down his own convoy is being seen as an attempt to set an example during the ongoing energy crisis.
