
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated India’s medal winners at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, praising their outstanding performances and dedication in boxing and athletics.
Among the standout achievers, Sachin Siwach won the gold medal in the Men’s 60 kg Boxing event, while Arundhati Choudhary claimed gold in the Women’s 70 kg, Priya Ghangas secured gold in the Women’s 60 kg, Sakshi won gold in the Women’s 51 kg, Jasmine Lamboria triumphed in the Women’s 57 kg, and Preeti clinched gold in the Women’s 54 kg boxing category.

Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain added to India’s tally by winning the silver medal in the Women’s 75 kg Boxing event.
In para athletics, Soman Rana created history by winning India’s first-ever Commonwealth Games gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put F57 event. Shubham Juyal earned the silver medal in the same event.
In athletics, Praveen Chithravel secured the silver medal in the Men’s Triple Jump, recording the best jump of his career, while Selva Prabhu Thirumaran claimed the bronze medal with a personal-best performance.

In separate posts on X, Prime Minister Modi praised each athlete for their determination, technical excellence, consistency, and mental strength. He said their achievements would inspire young sportspersons across the country and wished them continued success in their future careers.
